Carolyn Murphy

Ms. Carolyn Gibson Murphy, 69 of High Point departed this earthly life on June 19, 2014 at High Point Regional UNC Health after a brief illness. She was born February 18, 1945, daughter of Slade Gibson Sr. and Bessie Mae Bennett Gibson.
She graduated from Carver High School in Laurel Hill, NC class of 1962. Carolyn later relocated to High Point where she was employed in the Food Industry. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, playing cards, listening to gospel and blues music.
Carolyn was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Dewayne Murphy; her parents and two sisters.
She leaves cherished memories to three children: Tony Murphy and Eric Murphy both of Washington, DC and Katrenda Murphy of the home; four brothers, Slade (Mary) Gibson Jr., Hubert (Mary) Gibson, Lee Thomas (Beatrice) Gibson and Walton Gibson; four sisters, Delois (Robert) Vanderhall, Dorothy Leach, Patricia (Raymond) Payne and Gloria Mosley; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchildren.
