Brenda Louise Grace, 70, peacefully transitioned from her earthly home to her eternal resting place on Friday, April 17, 2026, in the comfort of her home. Called gently to be with the Lord while she slept, she was released from all pain and suffering, embraced by divine peace. Surrounded by God’s grace, Heaven’s angels ushered her home, where she is now reunited with her beloved daughter, “Peanut,” in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

Brenda or “Toots” as she was affectionally called by those who were close to here, was born on October 1, 1955, in High Point, NC. a daughter of the late James Grace and Mary Frances Sellers Grace. Brenda was a lifelong resident of High Point, NC and was educated within the Guilford County School System, progressing through her elementary and high school years there. Although she did not participate in sports during school, she became an avid softball player and was known for her outstanding softball skills on the field. Brenda was an exceptional cross-handed batter and would consistently hit a home run when at bat, often knocking the ball over the fence. She rarely ever had to stand on base to wait for the next batter to bring her home.

Brenda’s kindness reached far beyond her family. Brenda welcomed everyone with open arms, good vibes, a warm plate of food, even those who did not have the money to pay. She had a heart for people and believed no one should go without. Brenda’s love, generosity, and nurturing spirit touched so many lives and will forever be remembered by all who knew her. Brenda was always a dedicated and hardworking woman, beginning her career in her early years at Slane Hosiery Mills. She later went on to serve faithfully in roles at Kmart, GTCC, The Country Club, and United Youth Care Services, where she worked as a cook. Those she served truly loved her food, and Brenda found great joy in preparing savory meals for others to enjoy. In time, she retired from her formal positions and gracefully transitioned into the role of an extraordinary, hands-on grandmother while also establishing her own independent catering service. Through her culinary gifts, she provided delicious meals for local and out-of-state organizations, helping them nourish the clients they served. Brenda took immense pride in her cooking, always preparing each dish with love. Her passion for feeding others continued to flourish and remained a meaningful part of her life until her departure from this earthly home.

Brenda was an adventurous and brave young girl, who feared very little and knew how to handle herself when challenged. She often shared funny stories of leaving High Point, NC and coming back playing in a band; laughed about how she and her cousin Betty hung their teacher up in the closet because she kept pinching them; how she fought bears and elephants and of course the dogs (LOL). Brenda had a story for everything and everybody. She would often tell the story about her older brother Mookie, where she fed him peanut butter and jelly sandwiches under the porch while he hid out from the authorities; how Sandra got a dent in her head because she was kicked in the head by a mule (LOL). Nobody believed Brenda, but it was funny to sit and listen to her stories with such conviction and such a jovial spirit. Brenda always found a way to make you laugh no matter the situation, and that’s how we all will remember her, a BUBBLY SPIRIT, a BRIGHT LIGHT, a FOREVER LAUGH.

From an early age, Brenda was guided in faith, attending church with her beloved mother, the late Mary “Barbara” Frances Sellers Grace, where the seeds of God’s goodness were planted within her soul. Throughout her life, Brenda walked in quiet strength and unwavering belief, knowing that all her help came from the Lord. In seasons of joy and in moments of trial, she leaned on her faith, trusting in God’s divine purpose and finding comfort in His everlasting presence.

Brenda cherished her role as a grandmother and was the kind of grandmother every child dream of having. Her grandbabies and God children meant everything to her, and she never turned them away. No matter what she was going through, she always made sure they were loved, fed, and cared for. She never said no when someone needed her.

Brenda was preceded in death by her daughter Lavern “Peanut” Lynette Leach, parents, Mary Frances Sellers Grace, James Grace and ED Wright, stepdad, Sam B.
