Betty Townsend

Mrs. Betty Jean Lindsay Townsend, 76 of High Point, NC departed this earthly life on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Atrium Health WFBMC-High Point.
She was born Anson County, NC, on November 28, 1945, a daughter of the late Edmond Lindsay and Mary Lou Watson Lindsay.

Betty was united in holy matrimony to the late Billy Joe Townsend and they later relocated to High Point, NC.  Betty former employers were W.J. Rives, Flowers Bakery, and she later retired from A Cleaner World Dry Cleaners.

She spent most of her retirement babysitting her great-grandchildren and spending time with her dog,CoCo.

Betty Townsend was preceded in death with her husband, Billy Joe Townsend; her two sons, Willie Townsend and Charlie Townsend; one sister Cora Tillman, and three brothers Edward Lindsay, Freddie Lindsay and James Lindsay.

She is survived by her two sons, Alexander Townsend and Kevin Townsend; a very special granddaughter, Keyona Townsend; grandsons, Dexter Townsend, Dakota Medline, Kendrick “KC” Townsend, Ryan Townsend; four great-grandchildren; six sisters, Emma, Elaine, Annie Ruth, Lenora, Doris, and Gussie, and two brothers Michael Lindsay and Charles (Karen) Lindsay a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
