Anthony "Sleepy" Tyrone Davis

Nov 7, 1970 — Jul 8, 2026

High Point

Anthony "Sleepy" Floyd Davis, a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Born on November 7, 1970, in High Point, North Carolina, Anthony was the son of the late Ms. Rose Davis and the late Mr. Ronald Waden.

Anthony, affectionately known as "Sleepy," was a family man whose greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He briefly attended Barber-Scotia College before proudly enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He faithfully served his country for four years and received an honorable discharge.

A standout basketball player during his high school years, Anthony carried his love for the game throughout his life. His passion extended far beyond playing, as he dedicated countless hours to coaching recreational, middle school, high school, and AAU basketball. He also served as a basketball referee. Through coaching, he mentored and inspired young athletes, leaving a lasting impression both on and off the court.

Anthony was employed with Polo Ralph Lauren as a coordinator. His leadership, positive attitude, and wonderful sense of humor made him a valued colleague and friend.

As a proud Marine veteran, he was an active member of the company's Belonging and Equity group for Veterans, Active Duty, and Allies.

In his leisure time, Anthony enjoyed bike riding, bowling, and spending quality time with those he loved. His warm smile, generous heart, and infectious laughter will forever be remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death one sister, Tyra Kinsler; and his grandparents, Edna Lily, Charles Waden Jr., and Willie Brockman Waden.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his beloved wife, Diana Davis; his children, Courtney Tillman, Santia Davis, Xavier Davis, Anthony Davis Jr., Jordan Davis, and Ashlea Davis; his stepsons, James Howell and Devan Blackwell; and his cherished grandchildren, Jaylah, Amiya, Junior, Carmelo, and India.

He is also survived by his sister, Tracey Jenkins; his brothers, Kim (Tonya) Davis and Tokota (Patricia) Waden; the mother of his children and special friend, Tamara (Andre) McBryde; along with a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
