Alvin Lomax, age 64, son of the late Robert Lomax and Mattie Lomax was born in High Point, NC on June 2, 1960. He departed his earthly life on February 21, 2024 at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in High Point.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, his sister, Libbie Ann Bolden-Ingram and his stepdaughter, Anina Brown.
“Doodlebug”, as we called him, graduated from Ragsdale High School in 1978.
Alvin was known for his unique sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing, a good card game, and repairing motor vehicles in the neighborhood. He was a hard-working man who loved his family. Alvin enjoyed family gatherings and being with his family and friends. Alvin spent his life working at local businesses, the last of which was Hafela America where he was a Material Handler. He was a member of Pearson Memorial AME Church where he served on the Male Chorus.
Surviving to cherish those special memories are his wife, Cathy Brown Lomax, his mother, Mattie Lomax of Capital Heights, MD, three children whom he raised as his own, Quanita (Joshua) Ganong, Asia Fairley of Charlotte, NC, and Adonis (Kristen) Brown of High Point, NC; one sister, Vicky Lomax of Jamestown, NC; two brothers, Melvin Lomax Sr of Jamestown, NC and Archie Lomax of High Point, NC; seven brothers-in-law, Ronald Brown, Darrell Brown, James Brown, and Billy Brown all of High Point, NC, Marc (Ruby) Caple of Stafford, VA, Jerome, and Kelvin Caple of Capital Heights, MD; one sister-in-law, Alice Brown York of Thomasville, North Carolina. Alvin also leaves to cherish his memory a host of friends, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
