Mr. Alexander Jones, 81 formally of Columbia, SC departed this earthly life on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at High Point Regional Hospital. He was born in Bennettsville, SC on March 27, 1952 to Mr. Milton Tom Jones and Mrs. Annie McLeod Jones.
Alexander traveled the US and later settled in Columbia, SC. He married the former Cornelius Rainey. He was employed as a chef for LRADAC in Columbia, SC. He was a member of the Mason Lodge #735 of Columbia, SC for over 20 years. After declining health Alexander relocated to High Point with his sister, Nickey Brown.
He was preceded in death by parents; two brothers, Johns C. Covington and Jimmy Lee Thomas; one sister, Isodora.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Cornelius R. Jones; three daughters, April Rainey and Virginia Johnson both of Rock Hill, SC, Meyonna Rainey of York, SC; three sons, Timothy and David Rainey both of Columbia, SC and Thomas Rainey of Spartanburg, SC ; two sisters, Nickey Brown of High Point who was also his caretaker and Alberta Graves of Bennettsville, SC; nine grandchildren; two of whom he raised, John and Tigeress "Shawn" Rainey; a host of other relatives and friends.
