On Thursday October 10, 2019 James Roy Bronson Jr (II) loving husband, father and son passed away at age 64.
James was born in High Point, NC on June 28, 1955 to the late James R. Bronson Sr & Clady Bronson. He attended Guilford County Public Schools as a youth where he graduated from T. Wingate Andrew’s high school Class of 1973. After high school “Tim” as his family and friends affectionately called him was an active member of The Reserved Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC-First Lieutenant), United States Army Reserved (Second Lieutenant 1984) and The distinguished fraternity of Groove Phi Groove at Winston Salem State University. In 1977 He earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Winston Salem State University in Political Science. Tim had a career in Industrial Technologies and Human Resources. He worked for Burlington Industries for over 25 years in Supervision and concluded his vocational journey as a Career Counselor for The NC Unemployment Security Commission. As an adult Tim became a Mason and also served on the Board of Trustees at his church Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He loved golfing, cooking, dressing up and fellowshipping with family and friends. Avid music lover known for his quick wit and infectious smile.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, James R Bronson Sr, Grandparents Eugene and Oveter Mock of North Carolina and Gladys Smith of New York. He is survived by his mother Clady Bronson, Loving Wife Phyllis Smith-Bronson, his two children, James “Roy” Bronson III , Tonya (Keith) Jackson, Grandchildren Morgan and Bryant , Great Granddaughter Marlie Makaye , Brother Eugene (Debra) )Bronson, Brother In Laws Ralph English, Curtis Williams, Sister In Law Julia Harris , Aunt’s Olivia Spencer, Velva Mock, Zella Johnson, Uncle Robert Bronson of New York and a host of several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends . The family of James R Bronson, Jr would like to extend their sincere heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to caregiver Veronica "Vicky" Spencer and other family and friends that provided comfort during this difficult time.
